ABOUT PIPER

Piper Gilles is a Canadian Olympic Ice Dancer. She competes with her ice dance partner Paul Poirier. 

She is a 2 x Canadian Olympian, 2 x World Figure Skating Championship Bronze Medalist and 3 x Canadian National Champion.

In addition to her impressive on-ice career, Piper is also a cancer survivor. In 2023, she discovered she had Stage I  Ovarian Cancer and received surgery early that year. 

Coming up, Piper and Paul will be competing at the World Championships in March 2024, which will be held on Canadian soil this year in Montreal. They will also be taking part in Stars on Ice Canada and Stars On Ice Japan after the competition.

Residing in Toronto, Piper is known in the skating world as 'Canada’s Sweetheart' - a truly down-to-earth individual who is selfless, humble and kind.

She is passionate about health and wellness, fashion, beauty, her dogs, cooking, interior design, wine, fitness, getting outdoors, going to sports games, cars and more! 

CAREER ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Successfully recaptured the National Champions title by a wide margin at the 2024 Canadian Championships in Calgary

  • -BRONZE at the Grand Prix Final in Beijing

    - GOLD at the Skate Canada International retaining international title for the fourth year in a row

    -In their first competition in three months (since Piper’s cancer diagnosis and surgery), secured BRONZE at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships

    - Triumphs at the Grand Prix Final, earning Piper & Paul’s first major victory at the competition (GOLD)

    -GOLD at the Cup of China

    -GOLD at Grand Prix Finland
